    Your day to day as a Customer Service Representative

    As a Full-Time Customer Service Representative at HME Specialists in Albuquerque, New Mexico, you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth and efficient operations. Answering and distributing incoming telephone calls, you will use your excellent communication skills to obtain complete and accurate information for patient demographics. Your attention to detail will be crucial as you verify insurance benefits/eligibility and obtain authorization if necessary. By ensuring the intake process is completed accurately, you will contribute to clean claim submissions.

    In this role, you will have the opportunity to assist walk-in customers and speak with customers both over the phone and in person. You will receive orders for delivery, pick-up, discontinuance, maintenance, or changes in service. Your ability to determine charges and coverage for the requested service, as well as collect co-pays, will be invaluable. With exceptional data entry skills, you will insert information into the system while documenting complaints of service and equipment failures.

    Your empathy and problem-solving skills will shine as you speak with dissatisfied customers, coordinating the correction of their complaints and ensuring service recovery.     To be successful as a Customer Service Representative at HME Specialists, you will need a range of skills and qualities. While previous homecare or medical office experience and/or knowledge of Medicare is preferred, it is not required. What is essential is excellent telephone and communication skills. As a representative of our company, you will be the first point of contact for our customers, so your ability to listen attentively, provide clear information, and address their concerns will be key.

    Attention to detail is crucial in this role, as you will be responsible for obtaining accurate information for patient demographics, verifying insurance benefits/eligibility, and documenting complaints. Being able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment is also important, as you will be answering calls, assisting walk-in customers, and inputting data into our information system simultaneously. Basic computer knowledge is necessary, as you will be required to use various software and tools. Being bilingual is a plus, as it will enable you to assist a wider range of customers effectively.
