Job Summary


Reporting to the Major Gifts Officer, the Assistant Director will be responsible for the Annual President's Dinner along with other duties assigned to in the Advancement office.


Essential Functions

  • Manage gift processing, financial reporting, database management, and expenses for the President's Dinner.
  • Create and send out all mailings and handle all printed material for the dinner. IE; Poster boards, honoree booklets, Save the Dates, and invites.
  • Construct seating on Social Tables and collaborate with University Events on registration.
  • Communicate and help create President's Dinner Website which include bios and copy for the website.
  • Hire and foster a Graduate Assistant.
  • Administer various committees for the President's Dinner. Dinner committee, vendor committee, and faculty committee.
  • Assist and guide honorees through the entire dinner process while helping with any solicitations, mailing or needs they may have.
  • Handle the video process for the dinner and oversee other President's dinner video related items.
  • Work with Annual Giving to handle the live giving portion of the dinner.
  • Collaborate with various student organizations to find students to volunteer for the dinner or attend the dinner.
  • Achieve a total fundraising goal determined by the President's Dinner Chair, Vice President for Advancement and University Relations and Major Gift Officer.
  • Acquire a list of vendors from various departments around the University, which includes just over 300 vendors, and educate these vendors on what the President's Dinner means to the University and outline ways they can help our students.
  • Assist the Advancement department in other areas when needed.

Supervisory Responsibility
The position supervises a graduate assistant and will delegate tasks throughout the year.


Work Environment


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is routinely required to sit, stand, and move about, to carry work, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, communicate, and hear.

The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 lbs.

Specific vision abilities required by the employee include close vision, distance vision, and color vision, depth perception, the ability to adjust focus and all-day use of a computer.


Employees must frequently exercise flexibility (ability to shift from one task to another) and routinely work within time constraints and maintain attentiveness.

In addition, they are frequently involved in social interactions that require oral and written communications and are required to hear conversations in moderate noisy environments.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Standard workdays and hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Throughout the year, in support of Institutional Advancement events, some late nig
