MERCHANDISING SPECIALIST - JOB DESCRIPTION

Merchandising Specialist duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Visit retail stores to maximize awareness and sales of products; sets products according to Company planograms
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with retail teams including site personnel, District and Regional Managers
  • During site visits, maintain store shelves by removing dated or damaged products
  • Communicate recommendations for promotional strategies to Category Manager
  • Ensure that sites are stocked with the right types and quantities of products
  • Display, arrange, price and rotate products at a site
  • Observe customer reaction to special promotions, communicate observations to the Category
  • Manager and remove promotional materials at the end of the promotion cycle
  • Perform competitor analysis to gain insight on competing promotions
  • Stay uptodate with trends in product lines

Experience/Qualifications:


  • BA/BS Degree
  • Selfmotivated and resultsoriented with the ability to function effectively as a team member yet work independently
  • Able to establish and meet deadlines and quickly develop clear priorities
  • Able to communicate in a professional manner when dealing with associates, vendors and Company contacts
  • Grocery/retail category management experience

  • Retail experience

Hours:


  • The Merchandising Specialist is a full time position and works a minimum of 40 hours

Salary/Income:


  • The Merchandising Specialist is an exempt, salaried position
