THE POSITION:


Are you an administrative professional eager to start the next chapter in your career? The Public School Employees' Retirement System (PSERS) is seeking a highly motivated and dependable Legal Office Manager to complete our team.

This position gives you the opportunity to provide administrative and management support to the Chief Counsel and Deputy Chiefs Counsel for PSERS.


Please note this position is located in Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania for which the incumbent must maintain permanent Commonwealth residency.

The employer will not pay for relocation, housing, or travel expenses.


DESCRIPTION OF WORK:


As a Legal Officer Manager, also known as an Administrative Officer 2, the incumbent will be directing and coordinating staff services such as purchasing and procurement, budget, and personnel administration for the Office of Chief Counsel.

Work may also include planning, organizing, assigning, and evaluating the work of two Administrative Officer 1 positions.

In this role, the incumbent will be responsible for supporting critical business functions and will be identified as essential - level 1.


When there is a declaration of an office closing, emergency or disaster, the incumbent may be required to participate and assist in those functions to aid the business continuity process.

As such, the incumbent may be required to remain at or report to work at headquarters or an alternate site and be available or reachable by telephone during the recovery process.

Teleworking is optional, with an occasional need to report to the Harrisburg office as operationally necessary. If requesting to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and be located in Pennsylvania.

The incumbent will be required to perform other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:


  • Fulltime employment
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday
  • Friday, with a 60minute lunch.

Telework:You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY:


QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:


  • One year as an Administrative Officer 1;
    or:
  • Three years of experience in progressively responsible and varied office management or staff work, including experience in personnel management, budgeting, or procurement; and a bachelor's degree;
    or:
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
