    Boeing Global Services is searching for an F/A-18 Structures Mechanic willing to on 1st or 2nd shift at Naval Air Station (NAS) Joint Reserve Base (JRB) New Orleans in Belle Chasse, Louisiana .

    Position Responsibilities:

    • Fabricates and assembles metal components and makes major/minor repairs to aircraft skin; installs rivets and metal fasteners.
    • Performs Daily, pre and post flight and periodic inspections on aircraft.
    • Assembles, disassembles and/or modifies systems by changing, removing, replacing or upgrading aerospace vehicle components to correct failures or implement changes.
    • Oversees assembly, disassembly or overhaul.
    • Configures aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment.
    • Troubleshoots complex pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components.
    • Performs validation/verification testing of systems and components.
    • Documents procedures and established processes to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance (e.g., repairs, test results, applicable modifications and inspection results).
    • Inspects components and verifies repairs for flight worthiness requirements.
    • Works under general direction.
    • There is a great deal of standing, climbing, bending and stooping. Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds.
    • Ability to read and interpret technical publications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
    • Work may be performed outdoors under all types of weather conditions with exposure to loud noise and exhaust fumes.

    This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at NAS JRB New Orleans in Belle Chasse, Louisiana.

    This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

    Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in military fighter aircraft maintenance
    • Willing to work variable shifts; including days, evenings, nights and weekends
    • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds
    • Minimum of 1 year of experience reading and interpreting technical publications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
    • Must be able to work outdoors under all types of weather conditions with exposure to loud noise and exhaust fumes

    Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

    • Fighter Structural modification experience
    • F/A-18 (AM) Qualifications
    • Prior experience with Navy requirements, is preferred

    Typical Education/ Experience:

    Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 4 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate+2 years of related work, Bachelor, etc.).

    Relocation:

    This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

    Shift:

    This position is for multiple shifts (Candidate willing to work 1st or 2nd).

    Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

    Summary pay range: $59,500 - $80,500.
