Purpose of this Job:

Responsible for receiving and storing inventory from the warehouse in accordance with system directed moves. Maintain accurate records of items and prepare inventory reports.


Safety Statement:

Employee must be of clear mind and diligent while holding this position.

There is a high level of severity associated with a critical error in this position and all tasks must be done with precision.


Food Safety and Quality Statement:

This position requires knowledge of and adherence to all food safety regulations and MBI food safety standards and quality standards.


Essential Functions of the Job:


  • Receive and count stock items and record data manually.
  • Pack, unpack and repack items to be stocked on shelves or loaded onto vehicles.
  • Mark stock items using identification tags and other labeling equipment.
  • Verify inventory computations by comparing to physical counts or stock, and investigating any discrepancies.
  • Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment and storage areas in compliance with safety procedures and policies.
  • All other duties as assigned

Equipment used in the Job:

Rider pallet jack, forklift.


Educational Requirements:

Minimum of a high school education or General Equivalency Diploma.


Number of years Experience:

Minimum six (6) months warehouse experience. Previous experience with warehouse equipment.


Reasoning Ability:

Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages.


Language Skills:

Ability to read and comprehend instructions, invoices and picklists.

Ability to talk to others (internal customers/coworkers) to convey information effectively and professionally.


Typical Physical and Mental demands of the Job:
Concentration, attentiveness, independent judgment and discretion, manage multiple tasks, read and comprehend instructions and work orders.

Must be able to see, hear, bend, stoop and reach, operate vehicles and equipment, stand for long periods of time (10 hours), use hands, lift up to 100 pounds manually and lift 200 pounds with equipment; up to 30 pounds 25% of the time, up to 60 pounds 50% of the time, and over 60 pounds 25% of the time.

Must be able to maintain constant and steady work speed for entire shift.


Work Environment:

Exposed to all degrees of temperatures (from -10 degrees to 80 degrees Fahrenheit).


Average work temperature is 40 degrees for 75% of shift in refrigerated side and in temperatures of 60 degrees for 75 % of shift in dry product side.


Other Considerations:

Must be able to work in a team environment and interact professionally with internal and external customers.
