As a Construction Manager for Fiber Optic Infrastructure in Newport at Deutsche Telekom Tiefbau GmbH, you will lead multiple construction teams, totaling approximately employees, and be responsible for planning and managing construction sites in terms of meeting technical, scheduling, and financial requirements.

You will ensure that cable trenches are properly constructed and filled, and that cable and pipe laying work is carried out correctly.

You will also be responsible for managing and supervising construction workers and overseeing the operational management of construction sites.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing for construction projects, coordinating construction teams, and ensuring the proper execution of construction measures
  • Ensuring the functionality of our network infrastructure
  • Acting as a point of contact for clients, authorities, and other parties involved in the project
  • Ensuring compliance with occupational safety and environmental regulations
  • Conducting construction progress and quality control checks, and leading construction and coordination meetings
  • Conducting personnel selection interviews and being responsible for the development of your team members

Profile:

  • You have a degree in Civil or Industrial Engineering, with a focus on construction, or equivalent qualifications. Alternatively, you have completed a vocational training program and have several years of experience in construction.
  • You also possess the following knowledge and skills:
  • Previous experience as a Construction Manager in the field of civil engineering, with extensive knowledge of construction
  • Valid driver's license (Class B)
  • Willingness to work regionally and potentially nationally
  • Knowledge of budget and cost management
