Unique Courier Service is looking for Dispatchers to join our team.

Responsibilities of the Dispatcher:

Monitor tendered freight through internal tracking, as well as external port/rail websites to ensure equipment is moved in a timely manner to avoid potential demurrage and perdiem charges.
Coordinate and schedule transportation activities for efficient delivery of goods
Receive and process customer orders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Utilize transportation management systems to track shipments and monitor delivery status
Communicate with drivers, vendors, and customers to ensure smooth operations
Dispatch drivers and provide them with necessary information for successful deliveries
Monitor driver performance and address any issues or concerns that arise
Maintain accurate records of all transportation activities

Requirements of the Dispatcher:

Minimum 2 years of previous experience as a dispatcher or in a similar role preferred
Minimum 2 years experience in a transporation or logistics setting
Proficiency in using Microsoft office and other transportation management systems
Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Knowledge of supply chain and transportation planning principles
Excellent phone etiquette and ability to effectively communicate with drivers, vendors, and customers
Familiarity with phone systems and ability to handle multiple calls simultaneously
Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
