Typical Day Will Include:
Legacy Code Refactoring:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand legacy Java codebases, identify areas for improvement, and implement refactoring strategies to enhance performance, maintainability, and scalability.
Azure Function App Development:
Design, develop, and deploy Java applications using Azure Function Apps. Leverage serverless architecture to build efficient, event-driven microservices that integrate seamlessly with other Azure services.
Cloud Integration:
Work closely with solution architects to ensure proper integration of Java applications into the Azure cloud ecosystem.
Leverage Azure services such as Azure Storage, Azure Cosmos DB, and Azure Service Bus to build robust and scalable solutions.
Performance Optimization:
Identify bottlenecks and areas for optimization within the Java code and the Azure cloud environment. Implement best practices for performance tuning to ensure optimal application responsiveness and resource utilization.
Collaborative Problem Solving:
Participate in code reviews, pair programming sessions, and technical discussions to ensure code quality, share knowledge, and collectively solve challenges.
Documentation:
Maintain comprehensive documentation of code changes, architectural decisions, and development processes. Ensure that knowledge is effectively shared with team members and stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay up-to-date with the latest Java development trends and Azure cloud services. Propose and implement improvements to development processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness.

WHAT YOU'
LL NEED:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Proven professional experience as a Java Developer, with a strong focus on legacy code transformation and modernization.
Hands-on experience developing applications in the Azure cloud environment, including Azure Function Apps.
Proficiency in Java programming language and related frameworks (Spring, Hibernate, etc.).
Familiarity with cloud architecture principles and best practices.
Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
Excellent communication skills to convey technical concepts effectively.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Knowledge of ColdFusion or ability to self-learn independently.

The likely salary range for this position is $96,000 - $144,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary.
Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
