Bnef Descnption This position performs general clerical work and other duties of routine difficulty

of Duties:
in support of the 9-1-1 Communications Center; Oversees the accuracy of the
alarm accounts in the Village's Computer Aided Dispatching (CAD) database
and enters information that directly impacts public safety response; Coordinates
installation services with vendors, initiates new customer billing, maintains
current and accurate billing information, and tracks and verifies radio and
equipment inventory; Serves as liaison between Village of Skokie and alarm
vendors and as liaison between Dispatch and the Fire Prevention Bureau;
Updates and maintains alarm subscriber and billing information; Communicates
with alarm subscribers regarding payments; Handles incoming/outgoing calls
related to alarm system billing, installation, and placing alarms in/out of service
for maintenance; Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

Required High School Diploma or equivalent required; One year of experience in general
Education, office work; Good knowledge of business English and basic arithmetic; Ability to
Traininci. and compose letters or memoranda, prepare reports, and establish and maintain

Experience:
records and files; Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in

writing and interact effectively with co-workers, colleagues, and the public; Ability
office equipment; Must have excellent organization skills and use discretionary
judgement in dispensing information; Ability to follow all safety rules of the

JOB PURPOSE
This is general clerical work performing duties of routine difficulty providing basic clerical
assistance to an assigned department within the Village. Work involves a variety of
dericai tasks such as typing, filing, copying, processing documents and providing general
clerical assistance to the members of the assigned department.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Answers telephones and directs callers (both internal and external) to appropriate
individual or takes messages

  • Operates a variety of office equipment including computers, copiers, facsimile machines,
and telephones

  • Performs computer data entry and tracking; enters purchasing requisitions and invoicing
data

  • Periodically reviews and updates division policies and procedures to ensure any changed
are recorded

  • May compose some routine correspondence
