Production Technician 2 - San Diego, United States - D&K Engineering
Description
Ascential Medical and Life Sciences San Diego location is looking for a Level 2 Production Technician.
A Level 2 Production Technician performs functions associated with all production operations, including working with engineers in set-up and calibration tasks, as well as performing rework and quality testing related to the production of parts, components, subassemblies and final assemblies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
These may include, but are not limited to

- Work in highly integrated and fast paced interdisciplinary team on process scale up activities, process troubleshooting
- Execute process operations according to SOPs, troubleshooting and resolution of equipment issues and process disruptions, developing and implementing process improvements, process monitoring, and supporting investigations
- Execute relevant process activities by following established SOPs
- Setup and evaluate unit operations (daily and longterm)
- Follow test procedures and operate test equipment on assemblies and subassemblies with limited supervision, if required
- Troubleshoot process disturbances, identifying resolution and implementing corrective and preventive measures, as required
- Work with an Engineer or Project Lead to ensure timely investigations of unexpected data, issues and trends
- Make suggestions for improvements to the established processes and/or work instructions to minimize repairs and reworks
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation initiatives
- Perform clear and concise documentation following relevant SOPs and electronic instructions
- Performs other duties as assigned
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalency or Associate's degree and the equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities required for success.
Experience:
Typically requires a minimum of 4-6 years of experience in a manufacturing environment as an assembler, quality analyst or entry level technician.
Job Complexity:
Works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature but recognizes the need for occasional deviation from accepted practice.
SUPERVISION:
Normally follows established procedures on routine work, requires instructions only on new assignments.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- General knowledge of hand tools and power tools. May use metrology equipment to validate parts.
- Basic to intermediate systemlevel understanding of manufacturing electromechanical products
- Familiar with engineering change order implementation
- Familiar with trouble shooting and debugging protocols and subsequent documentation, if required
- Ability to communicate clearly with coworkers, clients and management
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE:
Software Knowledge:
Windows, MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
EFFORT REQUIRED:
Physical Activities:
On a continuous basis, may be required to stand or sit while working or sit at a work station for the majority of the shift.
