THE DEPARTMENT
San Bernardino County is geographically the largest in the United States covering over 20,105 square miles of land and is the twelfth largest in population. We are currently in the midst of historic change as our leaders have adopted a Countywide Vision that sets an exciting and ambitious course for our future. The Land Use Services Department includes the divisions of Planning (Current Planning and Advance Planning), Building and Safety including Land Development and Code Enforcement including Fire Hazard Abatement. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Pre-Employment Process:
Applicants must successfully pass a background check prior to appointment.
License:
A valid California Class C driver license is required at time of appointment. Employees in this class may be required to use personal vehicles and show proof of automobile liability insurance.
Minimum Requirements:
Experience:
- Two (2) years of experience performing technical support duties in a land use, planning, building safety, code enforcement, or weed abatement environment
Experience Substitution:
- International Code Council (ICC) Certification as a building technician or other related ICC certificate may substitute for six (6) months of the required journey level experience.
Required Lead/Supervisory Experience**:
- One (1) year full time experience in a lead or supervisory role
