The Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff is the largest law enforcement agency in Contra Costa. Over 1,100 sworn and professional employees are dedicated to providing the highest level of law enforcement and customer services.
The Office of the Sheriff offers a full range of services to over 1,000,000 residents in the 715-square-mile county. The duties and mission of the Sheriff's Office are unlike most police agencies.

With three Detention Facilities located in, Martinez, Richmond, and Clayton, a Lead Detention Service Worker with Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office will enjoy great benefits along with an outstanding work experience.

What you will typically be responsible for:
  • Working with sworn and non
  • sworn staff to build a strong team atmosphere
  • Performing everyday tasks efficiently and accurately while following policies and procedures
  • Completing routebased services in a timely fashion while committing to quality of service
  • Handson deep cleaning, followed by specialty disinfecting using proper equipment
  • Supervising inmate and employee staff
  • Ensuring quality of service is provided to all locations serviced
  • Maintaining excellent customer service and positive attitude
  • Working with a diverse work population

The eligible list established from this recruitment may be used to fill future openings for up to six (6) months.


Minimum Qualifications:


Experience:

Either (1) one year in the class of Detention Services Worker in Contra Costa County, or (2) Two years of institutional cleaning and maintenance experience.


Desirable Qualifications:


  • Previous supervisory experience
  • High School Diploma, GED, or High School Equivalency Certificate
