  • Remain awake and alert for the shift
  • Directly supervise and closely monitor clients throughout the entire overnight shift
  • Engage with and fully attend to children, monitoring behavior and interactions closely, monitoring sleeping children regularly and closely throughout the overnight shift
  • Provide a therapeutic milieu environment for clients, maintaining a safe and healthy environment; and meeting the physical and emotional needs of clients
  • Work as a part of a multidisciplinary team to further the emotional, behavioral, and educational development of clients
  • Implement treatment protocol established in client's treatment plans and individual behavior plans
  • Interact with clients must demonstrate a therapeutic and caring purpose
  • Provide therapeutic intervention, including physical restraints, done safely and by training standards
  • Communicate effectively with day/evening staff, supervisors and clinical team
  • Responsible for laundering the clients clothing nightly
  • Maintain clean dorm areas and client bedrooms
  • Transport clients to school and appointments as assigned
  • Attend shift change meetings and provide regular updates about youth

Administration:

  • Complete serious incident, restraint reports and all other required reports, logs and documentation before leaving shift
  • Complete logs throughout the overnight shift by checking each bedroom and assuring children are asleep through regular checks of children, bedrooms and all areas of the unit
  • Responsible to ensure all logs and documentation are accurate
  • Attend required meetings and trainings, including weekly staff meeting and all milieu meeting
  • Actively participate in supervision and professional development opportunities
  • Report work time accurately, punch in/out for shifts, approve timecard every pay period via the HR/payroll system
  • Complete all online trainings by due date through HRIS system or other identified platforms

Personnel:

  • Interact with coworkers in a professional and respectful manner
  • Abide by Program and agency policies
  • Show respect for all coworkers and responsibility for the youth by arriving to all shifts on time and stay for the duration of the shift
  • Maintain high standards around attendance, punctuality, and responsibility
  • Current *MAP (Medication Administration Program) certification (*or certification received within 6 months of starting position)
  • Commitment to the highest quality of care for children and families
  • Demonstration of compassionate, sensitive, and empathetic care for clients
  • Strong commitment to supporting, nurturing, teaching, and empowering children
  • Reliability, show for shifts on time, regular/consistent attendance, abide by procedures for tardiness and absenteeism

  • Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Valid Massachusetts Driver's License preferred
  • Acquire and retain First Aid and CPR certification
  • Acquire and retain certification in deescalation and restraint curriculum
