_ Saint Patrick Catholic School is currently seeking a Lower School Teacher Assistant to nurture and support 4th grade students in their personal and academic growth beginning in August for the academic year. This position will be scheduled 30 hours per week._

Responsibilities

  • Assist the lead teacher in preparing and organizing materials
  • Support the teacher during lessons by providing individualized attention to students, reinforcing instructions, and facilitating group activities
  • Monitor behavior and maintain a positive learning environment
  • Provide support to students for assignments and foster inclusivity
  • Implement accommodations and assist students as needed
  • Aid in grading and maintaining accurate record's
  • Collaborate with the lead teacher to address student needs and progress
  • Ensure student safety during activities and emergencies
  • Enforce rules and provide support as directed
  • Regularly update the lead teacher on student progress and collaborate with colleagues on teaching strategies
  • Participate in meetings and professional development
  • Maintain an organized environment and implement behavior strategies
  • Encourage student engagement and participation
  • Pursue growth opportunities and stay informed on educational best practices
  • Reflect on performance and seek feedback for improvement

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with classroom management and working with digital technologies
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, possess strong interpersonal skills, and be able to solve problems without sacrificing relationships
  • Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds, climb stairs, bend, crouch, crawl, stoop and run
  • Committed to serving as a role model for students

Education and Experience

  • 1 year of experience working with children, preferably in an academic setting
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (preferred)
