We are seeking skilled
Event Catering Managers to join the Sodexo Live team at
New England Aquarium in
Boston, MA.
New England Aquarium Information:
The New England Aquarium is a nonprofit research and conservation organization that has protected and cared for our ocean and marine animals for more than 50 years.
Principal Function:
The Event Catering Manager will be directly responsible for creating unique dining experiences by directing and actively participating in the production of catered functions.
Working closely with clients, as well as with the sales, culinary, and operations staff, they are responsible for ensuring that events are coordinated and executed smoothly and in accordance with all client expectations and specifications.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the efficient operation of the business unit by monitoring and ensuring that catering tasks are completed by catering and event staff in an effective and efficient manner.
- Maximize customer satisfaction and support catering operations by assisting in executing catered events and functions in accordance with Sodexo Live standards, guest expectations and specifications as per Banquet Event Orders.
- Implement, support and maintain standards for workplace safety at all times.
- Provide consistent floor supervision of Banquet events; Provide direction to Banquet Captains, Servers and Porters.
Qualifications/Skills:
- 12 years of event management experience within a complex food and beverage operation
- Must possess strong knowledge of food and wine for menu development.
- Must possess strong knowledge of food and beverage financials, operations procedures, controls and administration, as well as awareness and ability to perform all salesrelated functions.
- Proven ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and management; Ability to

Other Requirements:
Hours may be extended or irregular to include nights, weekends and holidays.
