The Opportunity
As the Safety Data Analyst, you play a critical role in enhancing our organization's safety performance and risk management capabilities.
Leveraging advanced data science techniques and emerging AI technologies, you derive actionable insights from safety data to support better decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
The position is in Houston, TX or Calgary, AB.What you'll do
- Collect, clean, and integrate safety data from multiple sources (e.g., incident reports, inspection logs, sensor data) to create a centralized, highquality database
- Develop and implement advanced statistical models, machine learning algorithms, and predictive analytics to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in safety data
- Utilize computer vision, natural language processing, and other AI methods to extract meaningful insights from unstructured data like incident narratives and photos
- Collaborate with safety and operations teams to translate datadriven insights into concrete recommendations for improving safety policies, training programs, and risk mitigation strategies
- Design and build interactive dashboards and visualizations to effectively communicate safety performance metrics and datadriven insights to key stakeholders
- Stay uptodate with the latest advancements in data science, AI, and safety management to identify and pilot new technologies that can enhance the organization's safety capabilities
- Bachelor's or master's degree in data science, statistics, computer science, or a related quantitative field
- 8+ years of experience in data analysis, with a strong background in safety, risk management, or operations
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL for data manipulation, analysis, and visualization
- Familiarity with safety data management systems, incident reporting processes, and industry regulations
- Excellent problemsolving, critical thinking, and communication skills to effectively translate data insights into actionable recommendations
- Advanced degree or certification in data science, safety engineering, or a related discipline
- Experience working with industrial sensor data, IoT platforms, or computer vision systems
- Understanding of safety management systems and risk assessment methodologies
- Ability to work collaboratively with crossfunctional teams, including safety, operations, and IT
- Successfully complete preemployment checks
