Job Summary
The cashier operates the cash register to accept payment for merchandise or services.


General Accountabilities

• Greets customers with a welcoming happy greeting and serves them with their baked goods or ice cream requests.
• Receives payment by cash, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits.
• Issues receipts, refunds, credits, or change to customers.
• Check money in cash drawers at the beginning of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change.
• Calculates total payments received during a time period, and reconciles this with total sales.
• Assist customers by providing information, taking orders and resolving their complaints.
• Maintains clean and orderly checkout area.
• Cleans tables and seats.
• Cleans up spilled food, drink or broken dishes and removes empty bottles and trash.
• Maintains adequate supplies of items, such as clean silverware, dishes and trays.
• Scrapes and stacks dirty dishes and carries dishes and other tableware to kitchen for cleaning.
• Washes pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and other cooking equipment.
• Stocks cabinets or serving areas with condiments and refills condiment containers.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

• 6 months cashiering and/or restaurant experience required.
