Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Evaluate systems and facilities to determine maintenance or repairs that need to be performed.
  • Performs routine maintenance on physical property and building systems.
  • Performs daily maintenance tasks including but not limited to replacing lightbulbs, repairing broken furniture, fixtures, and hardware and paint touchups.
  • Coordinates third party contractors for larger capital maintenance projects such as roof replacements, exterior painting, window replacement, etc.
  • Maintains pool and hot tubs including, chemical ordering and balancing, filter maintenance, gas boiler supervision, and cleaning as needed.
  • Ensures all gutters and drains, and plumbing systems are maintained in working order.
  • Works with General Manager and Owner to plan work priorities, to obtain necessary supplies and to assess required skills to complete necessary tasks.
  • Collaborates with team members to discuss upcoming work.
  • Develops and executes a yearly Rooms Perfect Plan.
  • Develops and executes a Property-Wide Preventative Maintenance Plan.
  • Implement property wide health and safety procedures.
  • Performs regular property wide inspections to ensure that the property is safe for employees and guests.
  • Coordinates and documents inspections and repairs of property wide life safety systems
  • Manages upkeep of vineyards and grounds with activities such as lawn care, weeding, pruning. Some items to be performed inhouse and some to be third party contracted.
  • Assists in winemaking operation including maintaining tanks, barrels, and equipment.
  • Assisting with winemaking operation including harvest, fermentation, racking as well as moving, storage and cleaning of supplies and products
  • Coordinates and documents inspections, biannual maintenance, and repairs of property wide HVAC and domestic hot water boiler systems
  • Coordinates and documents inspections, biannual maintenance, and repairs of property wide septic systems
  • Coordinates property wide landscaping maintenance including but not limited to weekly maintenance and seasonal cleanups and plantings.
  • Performs and or coordinates snow and ice removal in the winter to ensure safe and operable parking and walking areas.
  • Performs necessary cleaning activities such as dusting, mopping and trash removal.
  • Maintains an organized a well inventoried maintenance area.
  • Inspect all areas, and grounds for cleanliness and appearance.
  • Assist the housekeeping/property team as needed in additional deep cleaning and turning over of spaces.
  • Greet and welcome guests when needed.
  • Train team members on the policies and procedures of the maintenance department.
  • Oversees overall daytoday maintenance operations as delegated by the General Manager.
  • Assists General Manager with the monitoring of the properties systems and makes corrections and suggestions for better efficiency.
  • Maintains product and service quality standards by conducting ongoing evaluations and investigating complaints. Suggests and implements corrective actions.
  • Creates an operating environment that assures consistent guest satisfaction through the physical property.
  • Ensures proper handling of guest complaints as they pertain to the physical property.
  • Ensures property team is trained and knowledgeable regarding Shepherd's Run systems and property.
  • Serves as a "hands on manager" working maintenance shifts.
  • Collaborates with other managers and departments to develop business revenue and operational strategies focused on increasing sales, guest satisfaction, and expense control, including but not limited to special events with the Culinary Director, Innkeeper, and Tasting Room Manager. Private functions that include both culinary as well as wellness sales, retreats, and corporate events that include packages for lodging as well as winery tasting services.
  • Maintain inventory levels of all engineering supplies.
  • Ensure proper documentation and payment as it pertains to engineering contracts.
  • Supervises and motivates designated employees; carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company's policies, training programs, and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
