Primary Responsibilities:
Attend all scheduled safety, department, and company meetings asFollow and enforce company safety polices and safe work practices at all times to ensure safety of self and othersPerform accurate and complete vehicle inspections (DOT, PM)
Perform air brake diagnostics, and inspections.
Perform ABS diagnostics and repairs utilizing laptop diagnostic systemPerform floor repairsPerform minor and major accident repairsPerform electrical systems diagnostics and repairsPerform air brake diagnostics and repairsPerform wheel end repairs and adjustmentsPerform aluminum and steel weldingPerform general repairs on trailer and trailer dolliesPerform PM maintenance accurately and efficientlyResponsible to adhere to all warranty policies and proceduresAbility to use electronic technical manuals and resources for diagnostics and repairProvide accurate documentation on repair orders Research and conform to original equipment manufacturers (OEM) maintenance specifications (as closely as possible)Deviations from the OEM specifications must be approved by the Facility ManagerKeep detailed and accurate maintenance records in accordance with SPS Quality Policy and DOT RegulationsMaintain and organized and clean maintenance shopComply with all SPS policies DOT Regulations and OSHA guidelines that impact the maintenance department (not limited to the following):

Work Requirements:
Working In a yard or warehouse facility within OSHA guidelines; conditions may be heated and/or unheated, dusty and noisy; steel-toed boots required dailyFacility is a multiple shift Must possess the ability to work a flexible schedule and be on-call at various times including possible weekends and holidays.
Fast-paced moderately stressful, constantly changing day to day work environmentAbility to stand, walk, or be mobile for up to eight hours per Capable of ascending and descending material handling equipmentAbility to lift up to 51 pounds as needed.
Pushing, pulling, or carrying up to 50 poundsWear proper PPE at all times (as described in company policy).Required Background, Competencies & Expertise:
