Biologist- Estuarine Ecology Specialist

Join our team as a General Biologist III, providing essential support for estuarine lower trophic level monitoring and research. This role entails diverse tasks including fieldwork, laboratory analyses, and data management.

Compensation & Benefits:

Pay will be based on experience.

Role Responsibilities:

Participate in field trips to Louisiana estuaries for sample collection.
Process water and sediment samples in the laboratory using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).
Conduct microscopic examination of microphytobenthos community.
Maintain, operate, and calibrate field and data collection equipment.
Coordinate field logistics to meet deadlines.
Offer guidance to junior team members.
Drive a truck safely with equipment.
Enter, format, and analyze data.
Assist in publishing data based on policy.
Other assigned duties.

Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities:

Require a Master's degree in Biology, Ecology, or related field.
Good English communication skills.
Knowledge in estuarine ecology and ecological sampling.
Expertise in field and lab techniques.
Familiarity with statistical methods.
Completion of Cherokee Federal pre-employment qualifications.
