This is a key position in our organization.As QA/QC Manager, you will be responsible for exceeding all minimum quality standards as defined by company policy, customer requirements, and all applicable regulatory agencies; and to ensure continued quality improvements.
You will also be in charge of managing proper implementation and maintenance of all food safety and sanitation programs.Comp:
$80k-100k/yr
Responsibilities
Responsible for managing the Quality Control Department to ensure products and processes comply with company and customers' specifications and standards to maximize revenue for the company.
- Responsible for providing a safe working environment for department employees including training, instructions, and supervision.
- Demonstrates a collaborative relationship with other department managers in order that overall plant goals can be achieved (yields, waste, safety, cost, service, etc.)
- Ensure that supplier's products meet the company's specifications and guidelines
- Manages and audits plants corrective actions for adequacy in implementation and compliance.
- Assists in resolving customerrelated issues
- Functions as team leader when the plant conducts mock recalls and assess management preparedness for a product recall.
- Reviews specifications (ingredients, packaging, processing, and finished products) for accuracy and resolves issues to assure capability to meet processing requirements.
- Participates in the food safety meetings and to audits to support/adhere to food safety guidelines.
- Interacts with regulatory officials
- Assists in designing and carrying out process or formulas experiments with the technical service department.
- Assists Sales with customer (s) product quality and handling concerns
- Maintain proper records for the department's activities.
- Reports department's activities, tests, and other pertinent information as required.
- Support plant's compliance with corporate quality, policy, and manual procedures
- Always follow GMPs and Safety standards
- Responsible for conducting monthly safety and quality sessions as required and keeping adequate documented records.
- Accountable for ensuring that all safety policies and regulations are enforced, by issuing disciplinary actions.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience in Quality within consumer food production environments, with a proven track record in leading QA/QC teams.
- Experience with regulatory inspectors: USDA, OSHA, BRC, NSF, and Health Department (City & County Inspectors)
- Team management/leadership/development skills.
- Successful in building and mentoring highperformance teams committed to quality and promoting a spirit of teamwork and a culture of continuous improvements
Experience
- 5+ years of quality control experience in a manufacturing environment required
- Bakery or food/beverage manufacturing experience preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of managerial experience in a manufacturing environment is required
Language
- Bilingual English & Spanish is preferred
Education
- Bachelor/Masters's Degree in Food Science/Technology or related field preferred
