SUMMARY
Family Service League is seeking a
part-time Instructor for the Alcohol Prevention program in Mastic. The Instructor will provide substance abuse primary prevention education to elementary school aged children and the community at large.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Instructor will plan and execute substance abuse prevention and characterbuilding programs in elementary school and other settings.
  • Create and execute substance abuse prevention community presentations.
  • The Instructor will participate in Health Fairs.
  • Complete data entry.
  • All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred.


Licensed, certified, or credentialed as Credentialed Prevention Professional or Credentialed Prevention Specialist
OR licensed, certified, or credentialed in a related disciplined required (i.e., Social Worker, School Counselor, Teacher, Health Educator, e.g.) required.

Minimum of 2 years of prevention work experience required.

Minimum of 3 years of experience teaching elementary school youth preferred.

Knowledge of current trends in youth substance use and underage gambling preferred.

Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills required.

Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office, required.

Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
