Classification:
Hourly Part-Time (10 Hours)

Mission:


  • Primarily provide administrative support at _The Journey Church,_ a United Methodist Congregation.

Responsibilities:


  • Provide Administrative Support to The Journey Church
  • Create and print weekly worship handout.
  • Check mail, distribute to appropriate staff and ministry leaders, and travel to post office as needed.
  • Maintain the appropriate organization of common spaces (i.e. office, kitchen, worship center, gathering place, conference room).
  • Provide hospitality setup for events, reservations, churchwide events, etc.
  • Support and help maintain church membership database including community members and partners.
  • Support our Volunteer Teams and Leadership Team
  • As needs arise with our volunteer teams and the vision work of the Leadership Team, provide the necessary administrative support under the direction of the lead pastor.
  • Administrative Support to Lead Pastor
  • Manage and coordinate schedule with church members and external partners.
  • Provide organizational and administrative support to Lead Pastor who is supporting our volunteer teams (i.e. community ministry team, justice team, refugee team, etc.).
  • Provide support in researching and writing grants to further our discipleship and community ministry.
  • Serve as an administrative support to associate pastor as needed.
  • Administrative/Conference Forms
  • In conjunction with the Lead Pastor, responsible for all annual church conference forms and additional forms and administrative items that may be required.
  • General Administrative Support & Responsibilities
  • Strive to develop as a servant leader through means such as worship, prayer and Bible study, and faithful stewardship of time, talent, and resources.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Lead Pastor.

Required Skills:


  • Good written, verbal, and relational communication skills.
  • Grant writing experience preferred.
  • Experience in computer database software.
  • Expertise working with Word, Excel, Gmail.
  • Project development and implementation skills.

Physical Dynamics:


  • Able to meet the physical demands of an active office environment.

The Journey_ staff must submit a PA State Police Criminal History Report, a PA Department of Human Services Certification, and an FBI Criminal History Report Check showing no reportable incidents.
