    Allogene Therapeutics, with headquarters in South San Francisco, is a clinical-stage biotechnology company pioneering the development of allogeneic chimeric antigen receptor T cell (AlloCAR T) products for cancer and autoimmune disease.

    About the role:
    Allogene Therapeutics is seeking a highly motivated Senior Associate Scientist in the Research department. The position will be located at our headquarters in South San Francisco, CA.

    The ideal candidate is an individual who is interested in working in a fast-paced, dynamic, and highly collaborative biotech environment with a willingness and ability to successfully take on new challenges.

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Execute in vitro and in vivo studies to support IND-enabling data packages.
    • Conduct preclinical studies to evaluate efficacy and persistence of allogeneic CAR T cells in orthotopic tumor models.
    • Generate CAR T cells and test functionality in in vitro assays.
    • Perform phenotypic analysis of engineered CAR T cells using multicolor flow cytometry.
    • Provide critical lab support and contribute to a collaborative team-oriented environment.
    • Design and perform experimental plans with minimal guidance, document laboratory procedures and analyze and record data.
    • Present at group meetings and project team meetings.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Position Requirements & Experience:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Biology or related discipline or Master of Science degree with experience in academic or industry setting.
    • Experience in cell therapy, cellular biology, or immunology.
    • Extensive in vivo skillset is required, including tumor inoculation and measurement (BLI imaging, caliper), animal dosing (i.v., i.p., and s.c.), blood/tissue collection and ex vivo analysis.
    • Direct experience with tissue culture of cell lines and primary cells.
    • Experience with T cell viral transduction and expansion is preferred.
    • Direct experience performing in vitro functional assays is preferred, including cytotoxicity, proliferation, multi-color flow cytometry and cytokine release.
    • Proficiency in the use of software tools to support data analysis (e.g., Prism, FlowJo).
    • A willingness to learn and adopt new experimental skills as needed is essential.
    • Excellent organizational skills and an ability to prioritize effectively to deliver results within reasonably established timelines.
    • Comfortable in a fast-paced small company environment with minimal direction and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities.
    • Strong interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication are essential in this collaborative work environment.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.

    The expected salary range for this role is $80,000 to $105,000.

    Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, business needs, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
