Emergency Housing Program (New Haven, CT):24 Hour Non-Congregate Emergency Housing


Description:

Transforming emergency housing to create a non-congregate, trauma informed environment for those who do not do well in traditional shelters.

The setting will accept pets, couples and families and work with local CAN providers to assist the unhoused.


The REST Center (New Haven, CT): Rapid Evaluation and Stabilization Treatment. A new level of care and 23 hour Crisis Stabilization Home. The location is New Haven, CT.


Description:
Working with Police and emergency providers to provide a home-like environment for short term diversion and stabilization. Alternative to emergency room visits. Also accepts walk in's.

  • May be required to practice social distancing/universal precautions, wearing of masks regardless of vaccination status, including daily temperature checks._

    Scope of Service: The Recovery Support Specialist I provides comprehensive communitybased residential and support services to persons with mental health, intellectual, and addiction needs. Provides handson, intensive skillbuilding interventions and supports to enrich and achieve an overall level of independence and wellbeing with persons served. Collaborates with Community Support Specialists/Case Managers and the program to support individuals in achieving aspirations through personcentered, strengthsbased, and culturally competent methods.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • RSS I
  • High school diploma/GED required with a minimum of 6 months experience preferred in a related human services field.
  • Certification in First Aid and CPR or willingness to obtain certification within 3 months of hire.
  • Valid Connecticut Driver's license with clean driving record.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Knowledge of the community support system and basic principles of psychiatric rehabilitation is preferred.
  • Available to work evenings, weekends, and overnights as required.

Recovery Support Specialist II (RSS II) $ Must be Certified via Recovery University

**Status: Hourly

  • Full Time & Part Time**
    Scope of Service:The Recovery Support Specialist II (RSS/II) is experienced in the field of health and human services and has served in capacity of a Peer Specialist/Recovery Support Specialist for a minimum of one (1) year. In addition to providing recovery support services and serving as a consumer advocate, RSS II works in a leadership role mentoring and coaching fellow peers, facilitating groups, and/or develops and implements recovery plans to assist clients in pursuing their recovery goals. As identified, RSS II provides handson instruction with activities of daily living, lifeskill and wellness coaching, and provides case management activities as required. Reports to the Director of South-Central Peer Services. Performs other duties as assigned.
