WHAT TO EXPECT IN THE PRACTICAL PART

Do you want to become Mannheim's new guardian of the archive? The practical part of your training takes place at MARCHIVUM Mannheim. From day one, you will be actively involved in the procurement, evaluation, and indexing of various types of documents. In addition, you will be responsible for analyzing daily press and specialist literature. At the same time, you will conduct research on historical questions and oversee the daily lending and user service at the archive.

WHAT TO EXPECT IN THEORY

Theory never hurts. Therefore, the theoretical part of your training takes place in block lessons at the Hermann-Gundert-Schule in Calw. During this time, you have the opportunity to stay at the local boarding school. Together with other trainees from the region, you will gain in-depth knowledge in the areas of user service, archive-specific administrative service, and public relations, and learn everything about the proper storage of documents.
