Provides psychiatric evaluation, treatment, and supervision for consumers following established standards and procedures of the STAR residential and Crisis Assessment Stabilization Team (CAST) mobile crisis services. Will perform consultation and training with consumers and their caretakers/direct care staff/medical professionals in in community settings, such as consumer's homes, hospitals/clinics or psychiatric settings, referred to STAR CAST. Must be competent in the areas of cultural sensitivity for the population being served, positive behavioral supports, trauma informed care, coaching skills training, person centered practices, and utilize less restrictive techniques to address behavioral issues. Will maintain credentials in required trainings. The psychiatrist actively participates as part of the Inter-Disciplinary Team (IDT) at weekly STAR meetings, monthly IPPs, psychotropic drug reviews (PDRs), and CAST meetings. The psychiatrist is a mandated reporter of observed or suspected abuse or neglect. Must have a valid driver's license and identification.
