properly disbursed, accounted for, and reported in order to meet the
instructional and operational needs of all students and the District. The
Payroll department mission, as part of the Accounting and
Disbursements Division, is to support the educational community by
providing quality customer service to ensure reliable, accurate and timely
compensation. The Payroll department oversees payment of
compensation for over 66,000+ employees.

Job Duties/Responsibilities A Payroll Specialist II performs a variety of technical and analytical duties
activities. The Payroll Specialist II may act as a lead in the completion of
daily payroll processing cycle or special projects
Typical duties include:
- Reviews, performs, and completes payroll cycles from processing runs
- retirement and deductions, updates to HR master data, illness leave,
vacation, legal claims, and garnishments.
- Compiles, researches, analyzes, and resolves time and payroll errors
- Assists in identifying and resolving problems in the SAP Payroll system
- assignments, benefits, deductions, adjustments and corrections, and
salary delivery; and recommends prevention methods.

Minimum Requirements PROMOTIONAL STATUS IS REQUIRED. You must be a current or
retired employee of LAUSD with 130 paid days in regular status in the
Classified Service or permanent status in the Certificated Service or
have been laid-off within the past 39 months from a regular, permanent
LAUSD position in which you passed probation.

EDUCATION:
Graduation from high school or evidence of equivalent educational
proficiency. Sixty semester or equivalent quarter units in courses such as
business, accounting, economics, human resources, computer
information systems, or a related field are preferable. A bachelor's
degree from an accredited college or university is preferable.

work at an institution in a country other than the United States MUST

Two years of experience utilizing the SAP Human Capital Management
system in payroll processing with responsibilities in such areas as
