    Description

    Overview

    Technical, fiscal, advisory, and administrative work for the Department of Environmental Conservation within the Agency of Natural Resources and the State of Vermont. Responsibilities include :

    • Manage the release of the request for proposals; Support the grant review process that involves ensuring that all proposals are reviewed, distributing all proposals to appropriate staff for review; occasionally taking part in the review if needed, compiling evaluations for final grant committee meeting; and, occasionally participating in the grant review committee if needed.
    • Manage the development of agreements and amendments from populating initial draft through to grant executing. Ensure grants have clear and specific work plans, timelines, and deliverables to ensure seamless tracking and invoicing.
    • Review, compile and enter information into databases.
    • Respond to FOIA requests as appropriate.
    • Be an active participant in team meetings. Work with supervisor on annual workplan and attend regular weekly check ins. Review and follow communication protocols of the State, Agency, Department, Division and Program. Ensure friendly and respectful communication from the financial operations section to all internal and external customers. Maintain professional behavior and communicate in a courteous and helpful manner, both verbally and in writing.
    • Juggling multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.

    Environmental Factors

    Duties are performed primarily in a standard office setting. On-site compliance reviews, hearings, meetings and committee obligations requires travel for which private means of transportation should be available. Some work outside of regular work schedule may be anticipated. A need to confront grantees with contract and grant requirements may arise frequently. Some pressure from deadlines may be anticipated.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Three (3) years or more of experience in the development, evaluation, administration, or fiscal monitoring of grants or contracts.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree.

    Graduate work in public administration or accounting.
