Description

The Eastern Atlantic States Carpenters Benefit Funds Office ("The Funds") is a benefit fund that provides Members and their eligible family members with the best possible Benefits during their active career and throughout retirement.

The Fund is seeking quality employees to accomplish this mission.

This position is responsible for assisting the Accounting Department and working directly with the Funds Controller as well as other departments within the Fund.

This role requires a leader who can manage both day-to-day financial operations while providing guidance and motivation to the accounting team.

Location:
This position is primarily
on-site at our Philadelphia location, with weekly travel to our Edison, NJ location


As an Accountant your job responsibilities will be:

  • Ensure all accounts receivable invoicing is processed and posted in a timely manner
  • Depositing and posting of all cash receipts
  • Coding and processing of all accounts payable
  • Prepare all daily receivable deposits
  • Balancing and reconciling of cash accounts
  • Perform bank reconciliations
  • Entering and validating journal entries
  • Analyze income statements
  • Assisting in month end close
  • Provide clear direction and guidance to the accounting team
  • Work closely with Senior Accountants
  • Provide support to other areas of the Fund as needed

Qualifications necessary to perform these duties:

  • 3+ years of hands-on accounting experience
  • Proven experience in leadership role
  • Excellent social, oral, and written communication skills
  • Experience collaborating with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Maintain a professional appearance
  • Proficient with all Microsoft Office products, especially Excel
  • Sage 100 knowledge is a plus
  • Effective time management skills
  • Excellent problem solving and resolution skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Dynamic team player

Bachelor's degree in related field preferred, but not required.
