Schedule:
Monday - Friday 8am-5pm flexibility is required.


Compensation:
$26.75 / hour (increases to $32.50 / hour after successful completion of 180 days of employment)

Job Summary:


The Armed Security Training Manager will oversee the training program lead training modules for accuracy, current information, and the creation of additional, supplemental, and new training modules.

They will establish continuity of training standards as they pertain to the site.

The Training Manager shall be well versed in all aspects of training as it pertains to the site and may be required to fill in or lead in training.

The Training Manager will update the training manuals for their specific posts.

The Training Manager, under general supervision, shall perform a variety of specialized, technical, and other duties in support of the Agency's Armed Program.

Most importantly, the Training Manager will maintain the Agency's Armory, conduct weapons training duties, and other related work as assigned.


Armed Security Training Manager Duties and Skills:

  • Manage the site's training program which includes (40-hour Orientation training for new hires, 16-hour annual Professional Development training, EMR/CPR basic and recertification, Lidar Operator Training, and other training as required).
  • Coordinate with external organizations, agencies, and other entities for training.
  • Manage all training files, both physical and digital, for current members of the site Security team.
  • Coordinate with agency HR for training file management of current employees and former employees per record retention laws.
  • Manage the site training schedule and coordinate with appropriate personnel to arrange training facilities.
  • Continually review all training materials to ensure they are up to date.
  • Develop and maintain lesson plans, and facilitate as needed.
  • Manage firearms training for the Defensive Security Force.
  • Provide firearms training and oversee the quarterly qualification of all armed staff members.
  • Conduct OC spray courses, along with live contamination following Agency policy.
  • Conduct MILO Simulator Range class with a focus of decisionmaking skills and articulation.
  • Acting Range Safety Officer.
  • Shall attend advanced training as needed.
  • Inspect and provide minor repairs to firearms.
  • Maintain firearms and all related equipment inventory.
  • Ensure sufficient equipment for training and transport required equipment for quarterly range qualification.
  • Participate in the screening and provide feedback on all potential armed officers.
  • Keep up with current principles, trends, and methods of training and instruction as it relates to security firearms.
  • Remain current with new methods of range training and armory operations.
  • Assess officer proficiency with firearms. Provide remedial training if necessary.
  • May be required to work flexible hours when needed for staffing, training needs, etc.

Minimum Requirements:


  • 21 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Education level college or accepted trade school equivalent.
  • Current Unarmed Guard Card
  • Issued by DPS (Department of Public Safety)
  • Current Armed Guard Card
  • Issued by DPS (Department of Public Safety)
  • NRA Range Safety Officer Certification
  • NRA Basic Pistol Instructor Certification
  • NRA Basics of Personal Protection Inside or Outside of the Home Instructor Certification.
  • Oleoresin Capsicum Instructor Certification.
  • Handcuff Instructor Certification.
  • Must obtain EMR/CPR Certification.
  • Valid Arizona Driver's license.
  • Medium level of computer knowledge/skills.
  • Must be able to type a minimum of 25 WPM.
  • Excellent phone etiquette.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Complies with uniform requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and written.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Ability to react/respond effectively under pressure.
  • Ability to work within multicultural and diverse populations.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 100 lbs. Dead wildlife or medical calls to move a patient
  • Ability to walk on Post.
  • Must be able to adhere to the site appearance standards.
  • Submit to a comprehensive drug screen twice per year, medicinal Marijuana is prohibited.
  • All members of the Field Training Team must pass the Basic Instructor Course
