Key Responsibilities:


  • All aspects of the work assigned to Supply Chain teams across the 47' Motor Life-Boat (MLB) Service Life Extension Program (SLEP).
  • Serve as the escalation point for your allocated program execution teams, assuring Supply Chain activities and priorities remain aligned and communication between locations is frequent and open.
  • Maintain key or critical supplier relationships with supplier's senior personnel to ensure performance of the work and negotiate cross program strategies where able.
  • Monitor and help program Buyers deliver to assold baselines in terms of cost and schedule.
  • Maintain direct working relationship with Program Manager and Directors on the East and West Coast to improve material control functions in the warehouses.
  • Work closely with key functional teams (Engineering, Program Management, Production, Finance, Microsoft Business Central (BC) Administration, Human Resources, Legal, and Quality Engineering) to advance:
  • Alignment of business processes and BC system to enable program delivery.
  • Streamline the "design to production process" as it relates to all supply chain functions and ensure accurate allocation of costs at the job cost level to individual vessels.
  • Best practices through Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) over program and locations.
  • Cascade direction to program Buyers received from the Program Manager to ensure consistency in strategy, execution processes, and resources (documents, forms, and templates).
  • Ensure Supply Chain risks are identified and elevated appropriately to the Program Manager.
  • Ensure that inventory levels are managed according to work capital thresholds for the MLB 47' program.
  • Establish data collection mechanisms (KPIs) to measure efficiency and conduct periodic audits to ensure adherence to set standards. When appropriate, perform Root Cause analysis to understand discrepancies and implement solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with all ES&H plans, SOPs, and Work Instructions (WIs).
  • Develop and prepare the project master purchases proforma forms, including legal and commercial terms and conditions.
  • Review specific prime contract terminology and transfer applicable legal and commercial terms into the proforma documents.
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain counterparts across Birdon Group US and AUS to ensure alignment with strategic supply chain strategies and processes.

Requirements/Qualifications:


  • Minimum ten (10) years' experience in supply chain operations and increasing level of responsibility for supervision of assigned personnel.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, along with the ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong negotiating skills with both legal and financial/commercial issues.
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships across the business.
  • Ability to supervise and coach individuals to align with their individual and organizational objectives.
  • Proficient in Business Central, Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to identify and adapt to work priorities in a constantly changing environment and stay organized.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to identify new processes and procedures for continual improvement.
