As an international non-profit organization, our goal is to give as many blood cancer patients as possible a second chance at life and provide access to stem cell transplants. To help even more patients, we regularly need the support of dedicated and highly qualified employees with personality. In a global network of around 1,200 DKMS colleagues, we want to work together with you and over 12 million registered donors to continue pursuing this goal.

The DKMS Life Science Lab gGmbH in Dresden conducts the molecular typing of HLA characteristics for all DKMS donors and is the world's largest HLA tissue typing laboratory. Our internationally accredited laboratory sequences over one million samples per year, donated by DKMS donors.

The "Clinical Laboratory & Search Unit Dresden" department conducts initial and confirmation typing for patients, family members, and unrelated donors, determines the HLA antibody status of patients, and tests the compatibility of patient and donor before stem cell transplantation (SCT) or transfusion. In collaboration with the affiliated search unit, the goal is to find a lifesaver for the patients under care in the shortest possible time.
