The KKR-Global Atlantic partnership - The Global Atlantic Story

  • Develop and lead the corporate governance program at Global Atlantic, including with respect to Global Atlantic's U.S. operating insurance companies, tracking and developing best practices, building a system of entity management as Global Atlantic expands beyond the U.S. and Bermuda, and implementing new legal developments relating to corporate governance
  • Develop management governance best practices and annual corporate governance goals, including selfevaluations, trainings, presentations and quarterly reports to management and the boards
  • Advise on and draft corporate governance guidelines, board and committee charters, formation documents, resolutions, written consents, board and committee minutes, forward agendas and templates of the foregoing
  • Lead preparation for quarterly board meetings of Global Atlantic's holding company and U.S. operating insurance companies
  • Manage regulatory filings for subsidiaries, including insurance holding company act filings and the Corporate Governance Annual Disclosure.
  • Serve as lead legal support to Treasury Operations
  • Develop strong regulatory relationships with Global Atlantic's domiciliary state regulators in Indiana, Massachusetts and Iowa
  • Advise on U.S. regulatory matters and keep track of new regulatory developments relating to corporate governance and entity management
  • Build and maintain partnerships with internal stakeholders as well as contacts within the broader regulatory, legal & and compliance community

QUALIFICATIONS & NECESSARY SKILLS:


  • 2+ years of experience in U.S. corporate or insurance practice at a law firm or inhouse.
  • Experience managing board and committee meeting, including drafting materials in advance of meetings, preparing agendas and resolutions, and timely drafting minutes and other afteraction items.
  • Ability to stay current on regulatory developments.
  • Experience with U.S. insurance regulatory filings, including Model Holding Company Act filings and the Corporate Governance Annual Disclosure.
  • Selfstarter and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to manage other team members.
  • Ability to work with a geographically dispersed team.
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work across enterprise and present complex matters to senior business leaders.
  • Strong communication skills, work ethic and high level of personal integrity and accountability.
  • Juris Doctor degree (JD) (or foreign equivalent) a plus.
