What to Expect:


The Patient Service Coordinator is the primary contact for all medical scheduling; this individual is primarily responsible for managing patient registration and scheduling for new patients, as well as coordinating care and scheduling appointments for established patients.

The Patient Service Coordinator will serve as a liaison between providers across all service lines, patients, insurance companies, and inner office departments.

This position requires exceptional communication and organizational skills to ensure patients receive the highest quality of care.

What You Will Do:

Intake & Chart Maintenance

  • Educating patients on services and requirements.
  • Registering new patients in required EMR(s).
  • Maintaining patient charts and ensuring they are accurate and up to date.
  • Answering incoming scheduling calls and transferring officerelated calls, as necessary.
Scheduling

  • Scheduling new and established patient appointments, including requested assessments.
  • Maintaining the provider's schedule to ensure 100% utilization.
  • Working in tandem with Patient Service Representatives to cover patient checkin and checkout as needed.
Care Coordination

  • Managing patient care coordination across all service lines and locations.
  • Obtaining insurance information and verifying eligibility; liaising with insurance companies to obtain necessary benefit information and documentation as needed.
  • Handling patient inquiries and complaints.
  • Responding promptly to patient, provider, and team members requests.
  • Communicating via phone and portal with patients regarding patient care.
General

  • Following NeurAbilities' Policies and Procedures.
  • Following Federal, State, and local rules and regulations pertaining to medical and behavioral health services.

What You Will Bring to the Team:

  • Highschool Diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of experience of scheduling in an outpatient medical call center or similar setting.
  • 3+ years of medical insurance verification.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of medical and/or behavioral health terminology.
  • Knowledge and understanding of HIPAA practices and adherence to the policies.
  • Skill in organizing and synthesizing information from multiple sources, for example, databases, print and online media, speeches and presentations, and observations.
  • Ability to manage confidential information in compliance with HIPAA and handle sensitive information professionally.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems with mínimal assistance.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across the organizational enterprise in a fastpaced working environment.
  • Ability to focus on client needs by anticipating, understanding, and responding appropriately to the needs of internal and external customers to meet or exceed their expectations within the organizational parameters.
  • Ability to deal with varying levels of the public from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Ability to stay organized and manage multiple responsibilities throughout the day (i.e., will need to answer calls, return calls, manage documentation, and perform insurance verification).

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:


  • Estimated 10 % travel, dependent on need.
  • Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some outofarea and overnight travel may be expected.
  • This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as a computer, phone, photocopier, filing cabinet, and printer.
  • Ability to perform tasks involving physical activity, which may include lightmedium moving and extensive selfpositioning.
