We are Cambridge University Press & Assessment, a world-leading academic publisher and assessment organisation and a proud part of the University of Cambridge.


We're searching for a benefit's professional to provide internal support and to administer the Cambridge University Press and Assessment (CUP&A/Cambridge) employee benefits programme, for the US and Canada.

Serving as an internal consultant and expert on benefit practices and processes, including retirement plans, leave policies, wellness programs, and insurance policies such as health, life, and disability.


About the role


As the organisation's expert in US benefits and reward related practices and legislation, review, design and broker the benefits offering, selecting benefits vendors and overseeing enrolment, renewal, and delivery.

Monitoring government regulations and market trends to ensure that the programs are current, competitive, and legal.

Communication of these benefits and encouraging engagement and understanding throughout a Cambridge's employees journey from onboarding onwards. Setting up and managing awareness programmes, including pension clinics and wider benefits seminars


The position holds a number of key relationships both internally and external and requires excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

About you

  • Selfsufficient with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, including the ability to build close working relationships with a large number of individuals across the organisation and external providers.
  • Bachelor's degree or beyond from an accredited college or university in human resources, finance, tax, or accounting.
  • Good working knowledge of legislation as it relates to benefits.
  • Strong analytical skills and understanding of retirement and benefit concepts and problemsolving skills, to assess, identify problems and develop corrective procedure.
  • Demonstrated experience with auditing, and process design, where attention to detail is critical.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple health and welfare plans, through good vendor management skills, utilizing broker services.
  • Strong absence management experience with the ability to research and keep updated on ever changing legislation and making proactive recommendation for changes to policies and processes.
  • Experience in working in an environment with HR Shared Services and partnering with various stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, adjusting information as needed for various audiences.
