Director of Quality Assurance


The Director of Quality Assurance for the Repair Station will provide expertise in Quality Assurance for compliance with FAA Part 145 and EASA regulations.

They will establish effective processes to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and prepare the organization for regulatory and customer audits.


Job Core Responsibilities:


  • Supervise the QA area, ensuring business quality objectives are met, including evaluation turn times, final inspection assistance, and paperwork completion.
  • Ensure compliance with FAA Part 145, EASA145 requirements, and the Quality Management System.
  • Ensure inspectors follow FAA regulations, SOPs, and Repair Station/Quality Control Manual.
  • Ensure all safetysensitive employees are included in the DOT antiDrug and Alcohol Program.
  • Maintain repair station roster and work histories as required by FAA regulations.
  • Determines that the requested maintenance, preventive maintenance, or alteration can be accomplished within the applicable data despite any other damage or discrepancies noted.
  • Ensures all incoming, hidden damage, preliminary, inprocess, and final inspections are performed in accordance with the procedures set forth in the Repair Station / Quality Control Manual.
  • Maintain accurate calibration records and ensuring timely and compliant calibration checks, the calibrations are performed in accordance with the Repair Station / Quality Control Manual.
  • Submit failures, malfunctions, or defects in accordance with the Repair Station / Quality Control Manual and Federal Aviation Regulations.
  • Act as the primary contact for issues that may arise related to Technical Data, Shelf Life, Calibrated Tooling, and Scrap Parts.
  • Maintain the repair station's training program and ensure all training needs are met.
  • Performs the repair station's "selfevaluation" to determine if an article can be added to the Capability List, along with the repair station "Self-Audit" that is required per the Repair Station / Quality Assurance Manual.
  • Ensure the availability and currency of the technical information required to perform work whenever a new article is introduced for maintenance, preventive maintenance, or alteration.
  • Fulfilling additional tasks and upholding further responsibilities as instructed or necessitated.
  • Maintain the Repair Station Quality Manuals.
  • Maintain access to Customer Technical document portals.
  • Serves as the primary liaison between the repair station and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
  • Regularly demonstrates independent judgment and discretion in handling significant matters.
  • Attendance must be regular, consistent, and punctual as a fundamental requirement.

Job Specifications:


  • Education: Relevant quality experience enabling successful job performance.
  • Years of Experience: 10+ years of experience in FAA Part 145 Repair Station preferred.

Skills Required:


  • Working knowledge of FAA 14 CFR Parts 21, 39, 43, 65, 91, 121, 135, and 14
  • Ability to obtain an FAA Repairmen certificate.
  • Proficient in English and strong communication skills (reading, writing, verbal).
  • Good time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites.

Work Environment:
The position is located in Fillmore, California in Ventura County on a 10-acre private heliport. Fillmore is situated along the scenic Topatopa mountain range.

Pay:
$100, $135,000.00 per year


Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
