Position Summary:
The DBT Coach will support youth enrolled in our SCC My First-Place program by assessing their needs, providing skills coaching and intensive case management services, and coordinating community services. This role focuses on educational, employment, housing, social/emotional well-being, and establishing permanent connections. You will receive intensive training in the Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) model, facilitate weekly skills groups, and mentor participants to help them achieve their goals as they transition into adulthood. The position will require on-site and community engagement Monday through Friday.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Client Services:

• Facilitate weekly DBT skills groups and coaching sessions.
• Provide direct support and mentoring to promote self-sufficiency and goal achievement through case management meetings.
• Coordinate a support team for youth, involving service providers, family, and other natural supports.
• Develop personalized strategies to help youth practice and enhance their independent living skills.
• Lead multi-disciplinary teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Organize and facilitate meetings for youth and their support teams.
• Conduct ongoing assessments of youth well-being and develop crisis de-escalation plans as needed.
• Maintain clear communication among key team members.
• Participate in on-call rotations for DBT coaching.
• Provide crisis counseling when required.

• Complete necessary documentation, including care plans and progress notes.
• Ensure all paperwork is finalized for each client upon entry.
• Participate in agency committees as assigned.
• Provide ongoing orientation and training to staff as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in Social Welfare, Psychology, or a related field is required.
• Eligibility to register with BBS as an ASW, MFTi, or LPCi while working towards professional licensure is necessary.
• Strong dedication to cultural competency fostering belonging and inclusion.
• Preferred candidates will have licensure.
• Experience working with transition-age youth with complex needs, including chronic trauma, is preferred, though it does not replace the need for formal education and certification.
• Comfortable working in community settings.
• Excellent communication skills, professional demeanor, sound judgment, and strong organizational skills are essential.
• Must pass a Community Care Licensing background check.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills are required.
• A valid CA driver's license, insurance, and a reliable vehicle are necessary.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with database systems is required.
• Availability for occasional evening and weekend work, along with some travel, is necessary.
