    Responsibilities

    Lead assigned staff in performing activities or task in pharmacy services.

    Lead or coordinate shift operation of assigned activities, resources, and/or associate.

    Serve as a technical or functional resource and perform similar duties with staff.

    Assign, monitor and review progress of work.

    Monitor and report compliance with policies and/or procedures.

    Oversee and evaluate orientation and training of assigned associates.

    May provide input in the review and evaluation of staff performance.

    Oversee daily activities of the Pharmacy 3-Technicians under the direction of the pharmacist and management.

    Participate in problem solving within the department.

    Assist with specialty projects and tasks as assigned by Pharmacy Management.

    Requirements


    Licensure / Certification / Registration:

    One or more of the following required:
    Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

    Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the National Healthcareer Association obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.


    Education:


    High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate'sdegree/Technical degree with 1 year of experience OR 5 years of applicable cumulative job specificexperience required.

    Additional Preferences

    Technician registration with the Maryland Board of Pharmacy is required. Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) from an accredited organization is a plus.


    Experience:
    Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a pharmacy technician, preferably in a hospital or clinical setting.


    Knowledge and Skills:
    Strong understanding of pharmaceutical calculations, drug classifications, and medical terminology.

    Familiarity with pharmacy laws, regulations, and best practices.

    Knowledge of medication compounding procedures and aseptic techniques.

    Familiarity with drug interactions, contraindications, and side effects.

    Skilled in measuring, packaging, and labeling medications accurately.

    Strong communication skills for daily interaction with other healthcare professionals and colleagues.

    Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic healthcare environment.

    Knowledge of patient privacy laws and the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
