    Position Summary:

    Orlando Health is seeking a Risk Operations Manager for their corporate headquarters. As the Risk Prevention Manager, you will be responsible for the facility or assigned areas risk management activities.

    The ideal candidate will possess a clinical background with substantial experience in clinical risk management. This role requires a confident leader who excels in presenting to diverse audiences, adeptly manages regulatory and risk concerns, and thrives in a collaborative team environment.

    Downtown Orlando

    Responsibilities:

    Essential Functions

    • Develops and coordinates the risk management plan.
    • Interfaces with federal and state agencies.
    • Administers the risk management program on a day-to-day basis.
    • Analyzes risk management data.
    • Coordinates and reviews risk education programs.
    • Complies with risk management related standards by Joint Commission and other accrediting and regulatory agencies with the objective of maintaining patient safety.
    • Enhances quality care.
    • Minimizes loss to protect the assets of the organization.
    • Responsible for reviewing and formulating policies and procedures for the organization and making recommendations for final approval by senior management.
    • Manages various personnel functions including hiring, work assignments, coaching plans, and disciplinary actions.
    • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
    • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.

    Other Related Functions

    • Has full responsibility for operations of the risk prevention program.
    • Directs loss control and loss prevention activities and reports results to the Director.
    • Oversees the statistical trending of losses and analyzes patterns.
    • Responsible for identifying and communicating regulatory requirements to the Risk Managers.
    • Leads development of organization-wide approach on disclosure of medical errors and obtains physician support.
    • Analyzes the risk of loss versus cost of reducing loss.
    • Supervises accumulation of risk management cost data for budgeting and historical purposes; prepares budget for departmental operations.
    • Works with medical staff services to develop and maintain risk management profiles on physicians and integrates that information into the credentialing process in compliance with state and federal agencies, JCAHO an/or other accrediting bodies.
    • Evaluates correspondence from attorneys, patients and other outside sources, and formulates responses as necessary.
    • Answers medical and legal inquiries for physicians, nurses, and administrators regarding emergent patient care issues and loss control.
    • Reports patient care-related incidents to AHCA if required by law; directs investigation and development of corrective action plans;
    • submits reports to state and federal agencies.
    • Supervises and manages the Risk Managers.
    Qualifications:

    Education/Training
    Bachelors degree in healthcare or closely related field.

    Experience

    • Five years of clinical or medical legal experience to include three (3) years of Risk Management experience.
    • Advanced PC skills required.
