Description

The Student Assistant for Conference Services within Housing & Residence Life is required to live on campus as a resident in a residence hall in an assigned room.

The Student Assistant for Conference Services is responsible for:

  • Living in on campus facilities to provide in-house support for conference and camp guests
  • Coordinate the ordering of auxiliary services (maintenance, custodial services, access requests for meeting & event spaces, AV equipment, etc.)
  • Assist with invoicing for guest apartments, event spaces and conferences
  • Inspect guest & event spaces for proper equipment setup, layout, and function prior to use
  • Submit iService requests to assist in resolving lodging maintenance or custodial services issues
  • Assist with guest apartment and intern housing reservations including processing online requests, contacting guests, and creating and delivering checkin materials
  • Complete appropriate guest apartment checkout procedures including facility walkthroughs and resolving lodging custodial or maintenance concerns
  • Collaborate with Custodial Services during peak conference season to assist with minor cleaning, collection of trash, and turning of bedroom spaces, as needed
  • Manage inventory of guest apartment & event spaces
  • Serve in an oncall rotation as assigned by supervisor supporting conference services guests; complete all administrative tasks as required including but not limited to documentation
  • Other duties as assigned

Expected Salary:


  • A stipend in the amount of $2,300 for a 3month appointment (May
  • August)

Minimum Requirements:


  • Enrolled as a fulltime student in good standing as defined by the University at the time of employment
  • Maintain a 2.5 cumulative and semester GPA the semester prior to employment
  • Be available for 20hours per week

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Demonstrated attention to detail, dependability, timeliness, and professionalism
  • Proficient in written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work independently as well as follow verbal and written instructions
  • Demonstrated ability to critically analyze situations and actively problem solve
  • Demonstrated experience in customer service
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
