Description

The Produce Clerk is responsible for ensuring the produce section of the supermarket is well-stocked, fresh, and visually appealing to customers.

This role includes maintaining product quality, rotating stock, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring a clean and organized department.


Key Responsibilities:

• Replenish produce displays regularly to ensure a full, fresh, and attractive presentation.
• Organize and rotate products to ensure freshness and minimize waste.
• Ensure all produce is labeled correctly with appropriate pricing and signage.
• Inspect produce for quality and freshness, removing any damaged or spoiled items.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and food safety in the produce area.
• Follow proper handling and storage procedures to preserve product quality.
• Assist customers with their produce selections, providing information about different products and their uses.
• Assist in unloading and organizing produce deliveries.
• Use equipment such as box cutters and pallet jacks safely and effectively.
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate needs to the Produce Department Manager.
• Work collaboratively with other store associates and departments to ensure a smooth workflow.

Qualifications:

• Spanish proficiency is required.
• Previous experience in a produce or grocery store environment is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, good organizational skills, and the ability to multitask in a fastpaced environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a customerfocused attitude.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
• Flexible schedule with the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
