Description

Engineer, design and document key Programable Logic Controller (PLC) interfaces, integrate, and upgrade Programable Logic Controller (PLC)-based systems and Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs) in automated and semi-automated machining and assembly manufacturing equipment for passenger vehicle 10 speed transmissions in engine plant production lines.

Improve, troubleshoot, and reduce cycle time of Programable Logic Controller (PLC)-based multi-axis Assembler machines and Programable Logic Controller (PLC)-based multi-axis Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) lathes, milling, grinding, drilling and honing machines using Simatic Step 7 Manager, Siemens TIA Portal and 840D, Allen Bradley RS Logix andStudio5000, and Fanuc 31i controllers.

Integrate PLC-based Assembler and CNC machines with Fanuc robots, Cognex/Matrox/Keyence vision systems, and conveyors.

Enable PLC and machine hardware component reusability and consistency to standardized methodologies including adherence to GM Global Common Controls Architecture utilizing GCCH-1 (Hardware Standards) and GCCS-2 (Software Standards).

Additional Description

Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field, and 2 (two) years of experience as an Engineer, or related role.

Must also have experience with:

improving and reducing cycle time of Programable Logic Controller (PLC)-based multi-axis Assembler machines and Programable Logic Controller (PLC)-based multi-axis Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) milling, grinding, and honing machines using Simatic Step 7 Manager, Siemens TIA Portal, Allen Bradley Studio5000.
