    Description

    The Inside Sales Engineer (ISE) provides support to HTI's internal and external customers and continuously supports the sales process for Hayward Tyler Inc.'s (HTI) canned motor pump business. This includes management and/or support of all technical inquiries, quotations from manufacturing partners, proposals to customers, incoming orders, contract review, customer-related communications, and helps in other functional areas as required in support of the sales process.

    Customers are defined as the sales team, agent representatives, distributers, end users, manufacturing partners and or intercompany.

    Job Description and Duties:

    1. Provides daily communication between customers and HTI.

    2. Must understand and react to customers' needs proactively and accurately.

    3. Research target markets as assigned for canned motor pump products and identify potential customers in those markets.

    4. Responsible for monitoring and responding to, or routing to appropriate contact Web inquires received.

    5. Captures communications within the CRM system including but not limited to:


    • Emails, word docs, spreadsheets, RFQs, contacts.


    • Lead times, payment terms, terms and conditions, pricing.


    • Schedule changes, technical issues.


    • Expected close dates, activities, % confidence.

    6. Reviews customer requests, Technical Specifications, Terms and Conditions and works with stakeholders in collaboration to identify any exceptions or deviations required for Hayward Tyler to fulfill the contract.

    7. Utilizes latest costing sheet to provide accurate target margin and lead time.

    8. Works with engineering and quality to verify technical documents and order requirements.

    9. Prepares, records and maintains accurate and complete quotes (opportunities) within the ERP and CRM systems that follow the protocol of the company.

    10. Coordinates with customers and stakeholders on price negotiation, Terms and Conditions and long-term contracts.

    11. Responsible for quote follow up to customers as assigned to capture orders.

    12. Provides technical and commercial review of purchase orders for accuracy to quotation and generates corresponding, sales orders including customer shipping and or coordination of contract shipping, and invoicing requirements.

    13. Works closely with manufacturing partners to understand production schedules and the impact to lead time and on time delivery.

    14. Communicates delivery & technical issues to internal and or external customers periodically until the part arrives on the customer's site and develops mitigation plans when ship dates are at risk.

    15. Maintains and improves quality results by following standards; recommends improved policies and procedures.

    16. Documents customer requests/complaints and provides internal feedback for continuous improvement.

    17. Participates in the strategic and tactical goals of the company.

    18. Participates in training and coaching as assigned.

    19. Other related duties as required

    Performance Measures:


    • 95%, or better, on-time response to quotation requests


    • Part of a team responsible to meet or exceed Order Intake and Sales Budgets for canned motor pump product lines.


    • 100% adherence to the departmental work instructions and procedures.

    Minimum qualifications:


    • BS in Engineering (Mechanical Preferred) or Engineering Management


    • Ability to take initiative and drive incremental sales.


    • Experience working effectively across multi-disciplines (engineering, sales, manufacturing) and at all levels of management.


    • Ability to read & interpret technical drawings, standards and specifications.


    • Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM software.


    • Experience organizing and analyzing data.


    • Experience with ERP systems, SQL databases and Crystal reports.


    • Experience delivering presentations with technical content and demonstrated presentation, persuasive, verbal and written communication skills.


    • Ability to travel 10-20% annually with international travel possible.
