General Position Summary:


Responsible for inventory and delivering supplies to patient care areas, responsible for the maintaining the computer inventory system in a timely and accurate manner.

Conducts cycle counts in materials management inventory location and on clinical PAR units as assigned. Assist in the ordering of routine supplies, forms.


Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities:


  • Answers and returns phone calls.
  • Delivers supplies to patient care areas.
  • Assists patient care staff with identification of supply needs.
  • Checks stock on units and restocks depleted items
  • Orders and assembles supplies for patient care areas.
  • Checks for dated supplies in Materials Management and on the floors monthly, and manage appropriately.
  • Stocks/restocks Materials inventory supplies on the shelves.
  • Conducts cycle counts on designed aisles as assigned.
  • Prepares routine/periodic inventory reports.
  • Resolves inventory discrepancies.
  • Displays proper etiquette and mannerisms that reflect the SHINE Behavior Guidelines.
  • Promotes the Patient and Staff Safety Standards as a core value of the organization.

Secondary Functions:


  • Participates in departmental and association wide informational meetings and in
- services, including staff meetings, association wide forums, and seminars.

  • Reviews department and association wide policies and procedures annually.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Additional / Seasonal Responsibilities:


  • Participate in department physical inventory (April & November)

  • Contain some discussion about confidential/sensitive matters.
  • Are usually with staff members, patients, and physicians.

Specific Job Skills & Mental Activities:

This employee must be service oriented and have excellent computer skills, problem-solving skills, customer service skills, organizational skills, multitasking skills, professional interpersonal skills, time management skills, the ability to prioritize work, and telephone etiquette.

Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.


Education and/or Experience:


  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Basic computer skills (required).
  • One year related experience (required).

Physical Demands & Job Conditions:

Medium


Physical motions include finger dexterity, standing, walking, stooping, talking, reaching, feeling, bending, kneeling, grasping, listening/hearing, handling, lifting up to 50 pounds, and repetitive motions of the hands, wrists, and feet.

This is considered a safety-sensitive position.
