Description

Coordinates and performs quality improvement and information technology functions related to the internal or external data reporting requirements to the state or other external regulatory groups.

Assures and coordinate tasks to ensure data accuracy and works with CMHOC staff to effectively report and analyze data. Assures that information systems are in place to assists in documenting and improving data processes and reporting. Assists in meeting reporting requirements of external regulatory and accreditation bodies.


This is a full time, benefitted position working Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm out of the Community Mental Health offices located at 12265 James St.

Holland MI 49424.


Essential Job Functions:

The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Coordinates and assures that preparation and processes are in place to produce data reports to DCH. Including monitoring for accuracy and compliance of data to requirements. Communicates areas of noncompliance to appropriate team.
  • Develops management reports from the EHR (Electronic Health Record) system as well as other sources of information such as finance (ERP) System. Works with various programs and committee to design and develop reports.
  • Integrates data points from various sources and information systems for report generation and data visualization.
  • Provides help desk function for EHR users and work with vendors to assure support is provided. Provide support for patient portal, EHR help desk tickets and other EHR modules implemented.
  • Trains users on various reporting tools used in CMH and on any new EHR functionality as it is implemented.
  • Participates in CMH Information Technology strategic planning and implementation and data acquisition.
  • Act as the lead and point of contact in generating and preparing reports for external standards reviews, audits and data submission to agency partners and Lakeshore Regional entity.
  • Provide EHR support and create user manuals for staff and other users in the use of the EHR and reporting systems. Plans and coordinates, scheduling, patching, testing and upgrade activities related to the EHR system and Reporting systems with users and IT infrastructure.
  • Provides support for various Quality Improvement committees by developing and providing reports for analysis and review such as Utilization Management reports for the Utilization Management Committee.
  • Provides support to various QI Committees as assigned, assist in the compliance monitoring efforts with CARF standards and LRP oversight as assigned.
  • Perform analysis in determining systemic data entry and accuracy issues and work with teams and programs to find resolutions.
  • Participates in workgroups that address data accuracy such as Crystal Report Writer's workgroup and Data Mapping workgroup.
  • Perform other tasks as required.

Required Education, Training and Experience:


Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with one to two years' experience in mental health management or administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge in Information Technology, Information Systems and Data Analytic systems preferred. Possession of a valid Michigan driver's license is required.

Lived experiences with mental illness, developmental disabilities, or substance use disorders are valued.

Note:

Must be able and available to provide emergency responses to system failures outside of normal working hours, as required to restore systems and maintain critical Community Mental Health operations EHR functions.
