Description

A Doctor's Assistant (Optometric Technician) is a valuable addition to an optometrist as they help provide top-notch patient care during their visit.

An Optometric Technician carries out various duties using optical equipment to perform initial tests required to prepare a patient for an examination with an optometrist.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Deliver exceptional customer service during each patient interaction, whether in person or over the phone
Show professionalism, greet patients warmly, and express gratitude upon their departure
Prioritize patient's and doctor's time, following company policies including HIPAA regulations
Operate various optical equipment and follow testing protocols
Maintain cleanliness of examination equipment
Adjust phoropter settings as needed
Demonstrate knowledge of eye anatomy, diseases, and medications
Perform general office tasks and cleaning duties as assigned

Access to reliable transportation for flexibility in working at multiple locations
Willingness to work weekends if required
Desire for continuous learning in the industry
Take initiative to achieve practice goals
Foster a positive work environment by being team-focused and patient-centered
Ability to communicate professionally with all levels of staff
Commitment to working extra hours as needed

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or equivalent, with related experience/training

Physical Demands

Requires manual dexterity and ability to lift up to 25 pounds, with specific vision abilities
