Savastano Kaufman & Co. is an independent, full-service certified public accounting firm specializing in accounting and consulting services for businesses and individuals. We currently have an office in Fair Lawn, NJ. Join a rapidly growing organization with a strategic vision and dynamic plan.

The Senior Tax & Accounting candidate is responsible for monitoring compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations to prepare tax returns, perform estimations, analysis, and planning. They are responsible for hands-on, day to day tax preparation and reconciliation of tax data, tax notice correspondence, and all other related tax responsibilities and special projects.

Key Objectives:

Candidate will work in all phases of tax planning, tax preparation, review, compliance, and research.
Communicate with tax department as well as work closely with team members to ensure tax work is completed timely according to due dates.
Keep track of assignments which are partially completed or on extension.
Communicate with clients on an as needed basis to follow up on missing items.
Ability to apply knowledge of current issues in tax, regulatory requirements, and industry specific concerns to clients and be able to identify where they may impact a client and recommend strategies.
Be proficient in the preparation of various tax returns, including, but not limited to: Individual, Fiduciary, Corporate, Partnership, and Multistate.
Assist team with completed all tax tasks and special projects.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in accounting (Required)
CPA or CPA candidate
At least 5+ years of experience in a CPA firm
Experience using CCH Axcess, Microsoft Office, and QuickBooks (Preferred)
Able to work independently and within a team environment
Outstanding communication skills both written and verbal
Detail oriented and capable of multi-tasking, prioritizing and managing time effectively
