- Degree from an accredited college or university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate required
- Texas Principal certification preferred
- Knowledge of and ability to interpret and carry out federal and state law as well as rules and regulations relating to assessment and Section 504 programs
- Coordinate all aspects of federal, state, and local campus test planning and administration with the CISD Assessment Department by providing training, distributing, collecting, and shipping testing materials, as well as maintaining accurate inventory of materials received and distributed
- Ability to organize, facilitate, and manage Section 504 meetings and other related events
- Knowledge of general education curriculum and instruction
- Knowledge of instructional accommodations and modifications
- Ability to interpret and analyze data

- Maintain confidentiality and security of testing materials and performance results
- Investigate, document and report testing irregularities to the CISD Assessment Department
- Coordinate campus testing planning and administration and maintain inventory of testing materials
- Manage and monitor campus compliance regarding assessment
- Assist Executive Director of Intervention Services with Section 504 campus/district training
- Assist Executive Director of Intervention Services with intervention programs data collection/management
- Manage campus/district Section 504 records i.e. campus folders and/or electronic files
- Assist Executive Director of Intervention Services with individual case management
- Facilitate campus Section 504 meeting calendar and collect all data and materials needed in advance of meetings (ie: teacher data, grades, etc)
- Conduct Section 504 meetings and take minutes.
- Distribute documentation to educators at beginning of year and following Section 504 meetings.
- Coordinate Section 504 plans, annual reviews, conferences, and data reviews for assigned district campuses.
- Manage and update student CUM folders and coordinate the transfer of folders to the appropriate high school campuses after 8th grade.
- Consult with district personnel regarding federal, state and local assessment scheduling and campus compliance
- Collaborate with campus staff to support federal, state and local assessment administration and interpretation of data to support instructional decisions
- Consult with district personnel regarding maintenance of Section 504 records and/or reporting of data
- Collaborate with district and campus staff to support Section 504 services and compliance
- Collaborate with Assistant Principals to schedule and facilitate Section 504 meetings and records
- Communicate effectively with administrators, students, parents and campus staff regarding learner progress and service/instructional need
- Communicate with campus administrators and parents regarding meeting dates/times
- Meet with students served under Section 504 to help them develop self-advocacy/self-determination skills, as well as set post-secondary goals
- Interact with the community on committees
- Keep department and campus administration informed of potential issues and problems as they arise, especially in regard to legal compliance
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, SBOE and local policies and procedures in the area of Section 504 and Assessment
- Accurately compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required
- Adhere to ethical, legal and professional standards
- Seek out and remain current in current knowledge of Assessment and Section 504 legal requirements and best practices
- Participate in district professional learning opportunities
